The Big Chop: Bermudian women and their natural hair

Many Black women have permed their hair over the years to suit popular beauty standards and to be accepted in today’s society although they are born with naturally kinky or curly hair.
Recently I spoke to three women who take pride in their beautiful, natural hair who want to inspire others who are currently experiencing their natural hair journey.

Tamia Grant, Tanika Carter and Katrina Lottimore, also known as Spring Flower, have explained the difficulties as well as the joys of taking care of their natural hair and accepting themselves as who they are.
